New Twist-Lock® Edge series receptacles from Hubbell Wiring Device-Kellems allow any installer to quickly complete an installation by hand. No torque screwdrivers needed to secure the termination. A strong levered spring keeps wires tight, eliminating screws.
How quick? The fastest terminating device on the market reduces installation time by 80%. Technicians simply insert the wire and press the plunger, securing the wire.
Instead of using screws at termination points, strong levered springs within each receptacle continue to apply pressure as wire strands relax over time. Wires are held tight for a consistent, reliable connection even in harsh environments. It stands up to vibration and temperature cycling as well as prolonged strain.
This new termination method means that NEC code 110.14(D) “Terminal connection torque,” requiring the use of a torque driver, no longer applies.
No live metal is exposed on the receptacle, also making it safer.
The new family of Twist-Lock® Edge products includes 3, 4 & 5 wire receptacles available in 20A and 30A versions. They support a wide variety of applications.
These new devices allow installers to get more done in less time. Sr. product manager Mike Williams points out “Imagine the time savings when a task that typically takes at least one minute can be trimmed down to 11 seconds or less.”
