Hubbell Wiring Device-Kellems announces new Advantage™ Series switch-rated pin and sleeve connectors with auxiliary contacts.  The ultimate in safety, these devices are rated as motor disconnects and now provide the ability to communicate with VFDs and other auxiliary equipment.

Advantage Series connectors are designed to provide safe and reliable electrical connections in a variety of applications ranging from commercial to heavy duty industrial. The UL Type 4X, 12 and IP69K environmental ratings protect the power circuit from water and dust making it ideal for industries such as  food and beverage, water processing, dairy, manufacturing, agriculture, and fast food.

Auxiliary versions are available in 30A and 60A 3-pole, 4-wire configurations rated up to 600V. The auxiliary control contacts are rated for 3A at 120VAC or 24V DC. The break before main contacts can be designated to send control signals to the line side, load side, or even both sides of the connection.  For easy termination, these contacts are provided with 14AWG wire leads.

An oversized ground contact is clocked at either a 5 or 7 o’clock position. Offering different clocking positions supports facilities that have auxiliary applications at two different voltages. For safety, the unswitched feed-thru ground is first to mate and last to break.

The Advantage Series combines the capabilities of Hubbell’s top performing IEC pin and sleeve with a UL 2682 switch-rated motor disconnect and now has additional functionality of integral auxiliary contacts providing yet another Advantage to these innovative connections.
