To achieve energy savings in harsh environments, Hubbell Wiring Device-Kellems has expanded its OPTIMYZER® High-Bay and Low-Bay Sensor line to include new HBSXT watertight models with integrated 0-10V dimming.

OPTIMYZER High-Bay and Low-Bay Sensors include photocells to support daylight harvesting. The photocells can automatically manage artificial lighting levels based on available daylight to achieve energy savings.

Integrated 0-10V dimming capability based on occupancy levels is available in end-mount and surface-mount options, complying with ASHRAE 90.1 and other energy code requirements. To ensure excellent coverage, select surface-mount units for the best placement.

Rated IP65 and NEMA 3R with an extended operating temperature range, the HBSXT watertight devices can be used in indoor, industrial, and outdoor applications.  It is best suited for where water or moisture may be involved, including parking garages and outdoors, but also can be used indoors in typical applications such as hallways, stairwells, and common areas.

“These solutions are designed especially for tough, demanding environments where traditional products may not survive,” says Dawn Czepiel, product manager for Hubbell Wiring Device-Kellems. “Properly installed controls can lead to significant savings in these settings, whether they’re damp or wet, cold or hot, or indoors or outdoors.”
