As Hubbell Wiring Device-Kellems continues to expand its line of SystemOne Fire-Rated Poke-Throughs (FRPTs) to offer flexible data, AV, and power configuration options in or through the floor, it has also developed a new online tool to help customers configure their own FRPT solutions.
Accessible on Hubbell’s website 24/7, architects, engineers, specifiers, contractors, and owners can use the tool to visualize their own custom SystemOne Fire-Rated Poke-Through devices, selecting the sizes, fittings, subplates, covers, and accessories they need for their specific application.
The guided process begins with size selection: 4-inch, 6-inch, 8-inch, or 10-inch devices. Depending on the size selected, users can then choose an installation type: recessed or furniture feed.
Once those decisions are made, then fittings, subplates, and covers can be chosen. As users experiment with subplate configuration options, the device illustrations change in real time to represent how the selection will look.
Finally, accessories are chosen, ranging from abandonment plates and pre-pour tubes to subplate extensions. Once all selections are made, the data is compiled for printing or downloading as a PDF or Excel document. Users can also import this data into Hubbell’s Submittal Builder to build a packaged PDF submittal with the selected resources.
“By building SystemOne Fire-Rated Poke-Throughs with our new online tool, architects, engineers, specifiers, contractors, and owners can see exactly what different configurations will look like,” says John McFarland, director of commercial marketing for Hubbell Wiring Device-Kellems. “This dynamic online tool simplifies the component selection process and makes it easier to visualize the final configured result.”
